Speedball Akua Intaglio Ink 59ml, Series 2 – Burnt Sienna

Akua inks were developed for printmakers who want professional results without solvents. They are soy-based, non-toxic and clean up with soap and water, and they are now made by Speedball.

Akua Intaglio Ink is a highly pigmented, smooth ink that wipes cleanly from etching, drypoint and collagraph plates while holding in the lines, and also performs well for relief printing and monotype. It dries mainly by absorption into the paper, so it stays workable on the slab for a long time.

The 59ml size is perfect for trying new colours, building a mixing palette and for smaller plates and classes. The full palette, from Bone Black and Payne’s Grey to Quinacridone Magenta and Metallic Gold, is offered in this size, grouped into price series 1 to 4.
