Speedball has supplied artists, schools and printmakers from its home in Statesville, North Carolina for more than a century, and is one of the best-known names in relief printing, screen printing and lettering.
Speedball Water-Soluble Block Printing Ink has a smooth, buttery consistency that rolls out evenly with a brayer and transfers cleanly from lino, wood and soft carving blocks to paper. Because it is water-based, there are no solvents involved: tools, slabs and blocks clean up with soap and water, which makes it ideal for classrooms, kitchen-table studios and beginners.
The 75ml tube is the most popular size and offers the widest choice of colours, including fluorescents, process cyan, magenta and yellow for colour-mixing and reduction prints, metallics and softer shades such as Leaf Green, Cornsilk and Bluestone.
