Speedball Professional Relief Ink Transparent Base 236ml

A colourless base for reducing the strength of Professional Relief Inks to make tints and transparent glazes.

Speedball has supplied artists, schools and printmakers from its home in Statesville, North Carolina for more than a century, and is one of the best-known names in relief printing, screen printing and lettering.

Speedball Professional Relief Ink is an oil-based ink formulated for serious printmakers, with strong, lightfast pigments and a stiff, tacky body that holds fine detail on lino, wood and other relief surfaces. Colours are named after their pigments, such as Phthalo Blue, Quinacridone Red and Hansa Yellow Light, so they mix predictably and give clean, solid blacks and bright overlays.

The 236ml size suits regular editions and print studios, with Supergraphic Black also offered in a large 473ml size. A Transparent Base lets you make tints and transparent glazes for layered and reduction prints.
