Akua inks were developed for printmakers who want professional results without solvents. They are soy-based, non-toxic and clean up with soap and water, and they are now made by Speedball. These mediums and modifiers let you fine-tune the inks for every technique.

Transparent Base makes tints and transparent layers from Akua Intaglio Ink, Mag Mix stiffens ink for crisper relief and line work, and Release Agent helps you adjust how the ink behaves on the plate. Blending Medium extends Akua Liquid Pigment for monotype, and Carborundum Gel is a gritty platemaking medium that you paint onto a plate to create rich, ink-holding tones for collagraph and carborundum printing.

Like the inks, these products are non-toxic and clean up with soap and water.
