Akua inks were developed for printmakers who want professional results without solvents. They are soy-based, non-toxic and clean up with soap and water, and they are now made by Speedball. These accessories complete an Akua printmaking setup.

Akua Printmaking Plates are clear plastic plates sold in packs of three, suitable for monotype, drypoint and collagraph; because they are transparent, you can place a drawing underneath as a guide. Akua Wiping Fabric is supplied on a roll for removing surface ink from intaglio and collagraph plates while leaving ink in the lines and textures.

The Akua Starter Set gathers a selection of Akua colours so you can explore non-toxic printmaking before investing in full-size jars. Together with the plates and wiping fabric, it gives you a complete, solvent-free route into monotype and intaglio.
