Bob Ross Painting Knife No. 5
The smaller Bob Ross knife, ideal for cabins, fences, rocks and other detail.
The painting knife is one of the signature tools of the Bob Ross method. Rather than being used only for mixing, it is used to load a thin roll of paint along its edge and lay down mountains, snow-capped ridges, rocks and buildings with crisp, sharp highlights.
Two sizes are available. The No. 10 is the larger blade, ideal for mountains and broad strokes, while the No. 5 is smaller and better for cabins, fences, rocks and other detail.
Both have a flexible steel blade and are made in Italy. Wipe the blade clean between colours to keep highlights bright. With practice the knife becomes one of the quickest ways to add sparkle and structure to a landscape, and it is also an excellent tool for mixing colour on the palette before loading the brush.
