Cranfield Studio Oil Colour is the everyday oil paint from Cranfield Colours of Cwmbran, South Wales, made for painters who get through a lot of colour: students, teachers, muralists and anyone working at scale. It has a smooth, even consistency that brushes out well and mixes cleanly, and the palette covers the essential earths, primaries and whites, with genuine cadmiums offered alongside economical hues.
The 225ml tube is a large studio size for heavy use, ideal for underpainting, large canvases, classroom supplies and the colours you mix with most.
Series pricing (Series 1 to 4) reflects the cost of each pigment. Studio Oil intermixes with Cranfield Artists' Oil, so you can block in with Studio Oil and reserve the artists' range for key passages. Use Cranfield mediums and thinners to adjust flow, gloss and drying time.
