Jacquard Gum Arabic 2.25g

These Jacquard binders and finishes are designed to get the best from Pearl Ex powdered pigments, though they are just as useful with other dry pigments and many mixed-media projects.

Gum arabic is the traditional binder for watercolour and calligraphy ink. Combine it with Pearl Ex and a little water to make your own shimmering paint or ink for dip pens and brushes; the result can be rewetted on the palette, just like pan watercolour. It is available in three sizes, from a small trial quantity to a generous 4oz for regular use.

Pearl Ex Varnish is a clear binder and protective finish. Mix pigment directly into it to make a metallic coating that can be brushed onto paper, wood, metal and other surfaces, or apply it over finished work to protect shimmering pigment from rubbing and handling.
