Creating a true brush tip for a fountain pen has been a long-standing challenge — but after plenty of behind-the-scenes experimentation, I’m delighted to say it’s here, and it’s a joy to use. Designed for bold, expressive line work, this Japanese Brush Tip brings depth, movement, and character to everything from brush lettering to illustration. And because it works with a full range of refillable inks, it’s made for endless creative exploration.

The tip flexes from hairline strokes to a generous 4.5 mm, giving you dynamic variation and painterly expression in a single tool.

To make it all work, I designed an entirely new feed system using high-precision SLS 3D printing. It delivers the airflow and ink capacity needed to keep such a substantial tip flowing smoothly and generously — resulting in the wonderfully juicy lines that make this brush tip so satisfying.

Durability was non-negotiable. After testing countless options, I chose a brush tip that holds its shape beautifully over time. And when one end finally starts to soften, simply flip it over — the tip is fully reversible, giving you twice the lifespan.
