Bring boxes of old 35mm slides back to life without setting up a projector. The Kenro X2 is a compact desktop viewer that doubles the size of a standard mounted slide and lights it from behind with an even LED, so colours look as they should.

Drop a slide into the slot and press down: the light switches on automatically and the glass lens gives a clear, distortion-free view. It runs on two AA batteries and is small enough to keep in a drawer or take round to a relative's house to sort through a family archive together.
