Magnani 1404 Pescia Printmaking Paper 300gsm 56 x 76cm – Soft White
Pescia is one of Magnani's best-known papers, named after the Tuscan town where the mill has made paper since 1404. It is a soft, cotton printmaking paper with a smooth, even surface and good bulk, qualities that let it pick up fine detail from etching plates and relief blocks while giving a rich, velvety impression.
Each 300gsm sheet measures 56 x 76cm. As well as the classic White and Soft White, Pescia is available in Cream, Grey and Pale Blue, giving printmakers attractive coloured grounds for etching, engraving, lithography, relief and monoprint. Its soft surface is also lovely for drawing.
Pescia is usually dampened before intaglio printing; for relief printing it can often be used dry. Test your process on a spare sheet to find the best result.
