Global Art Supplies Unprimed Wooden Painting Panel 18mm Deep – 12 x 12in

These Italian-made wooden painting panels come unprimed, giving you a bare, rigid surface to prepare exactly as you like. Each panel is built on a deep cradle, available in 18mm and 38mm depths, so it stands proud of the wall and can be hung without a frame.

Working unprimed puts you in control of the ground. Apply your own gesso, acrylic primer or size for oils, seal the wood for acrylic pouring and resin work, or leave the natural grain on show as part of the finished piece. A firm panel does not flex like stretched canvas, which makes it well suited to detailed work, heavy texture, collage and techniques that involve scraping or sanding back.

Choose the 18mm depth for smaller studies and work that will be framed, or the deeper 38mm profile for a more substantial gallery-style presence.
