R&F Encaustic Medium 333ml

Alongside their paints, R&F Handmade Paints supply the raw materials and grounds that encaustic painting depends on. R&F Encaustic Medium is their blend of refined beeswax and damar resin, the same binder used in their paints. Melt it on its own for clear, luminous layers, or mix it with colour to make transparent glazes and extend your paint.

For painters who like to prepare their own medium, there is white beeswax and damar resin crystals, while soy wax is useful for cleaning brushes and palette tins. Impasto Modelling Wax helps you build thicker, more sculptural passages, and R&F Encaustic Gesso is an absorbent ground made specifically to accept hot wax, unlike standard acrylic gessoes.
