R&F Drawing Oils are one of the newest lines from R&F Handmade Paints, the Kingston, New York, maker known for its encaustics and Pigment Sticks. They bring the company's handmade oil colour to a compact 12ml format designed with drawing in mind, so you can work with the richness of oil paint in a more immediate, linear way.
The colour range draws on R&F's established palette, including familiar names such as Jaune Brillant, Provence Blue, Celadon Green and Ancient Gold, alongside essentials like Titanium-Zinc White, Payne's Grey and Mars Black. Colours are graded into R&F's series according to pigment cost.
Pair them with R&F Drawing Oil Pads, made to take oil colour, or work on primed paper, panel and canvas. As with all oil paints, allow each layer to dry thoroughly before overworking.
