Raphaël is a French brushmaker whose history goes back to 1793, and Kaerell is its synthetic fibre, developed to give a responsive, hard-wearing brush for water-based media. Kaerell Blue brings this fibre together in a complete family of shapes.
Rounds (Series 8204) run from 3/0 to 24, with script liners (8214 and 8224) for long continuous lines, flats (8234), filberts (8244), wash flats sized in inches (8254), angled brushes (8264) and fans (8274). That makes it easy to put together a coordinated set for watercolour, gouache, ink and acrylic.
Synthetic fibre resists wear from acrylic and is quick to clean with soap and water, so these brushes are well suited to everyday studio use, teaching and painting on location. Clean promptly after use, reshape the head and leave to dry.
