Raphaël Kolinsky Gold Round Brush, Series 8802 – Size 8

Raphaël is a French brushmaker whose history goes back to 1793, and the Kolinsky Gold brushes are part of its fine art collection, offered in four essential shapes.

Choose from rounds in Series 1862 and 8802, flats in Series 1872 and filberts in Series 8728. Several of these series are long-handled, so they suit work at the easel with oils, alkyds and acrylics where you want smooth, controlled strokes, fine blending and crisp edges rather than the textured marks of bristle.

Rounds are ideal for line, detail and lettering-style strokes, flats for clean planes and edges, and filberts for modelling form and softening transitions. Clean carefully after each session with the appropriate solvent or soap and water, then reshape the head and leave to dry so the brushes keep their shape.
