Raphaël L'Impressionniste Fan Brush, Series 3615 – Size 2

Raphaël is a French brushmaker whose history goes back to 1793, and L'Impressionniste is one of the newest additions to its brush collection.

The range covers the core easel shapes – rounds (Series 360), brights (361), flats (365) and filberts (3612) – alongside more unusual heads: a double-edged brush (3611), a fan (3615) and a D-brush (3693). Brights are short flats that give firm, controlled strokes, while the filbert’s rounded tip is ideal for soft edges and modelling form.

Sizes run up to 20 or 24 in the main shapes, so you can work at a range of scales. The specialist shapes are useful for texture, blending and expressive marks. Clean thoroughly after each session, reshape the head and leave to dry.
