Raphaël Textura Flat Brush, Series 870 – Size 8

Raphaël is a French brushmaker whose history goes back to 1793, and Textura is its long-handled range for painters who work with heavy-bodied colour.

Textura comes in three shapes: rounds (Series 860), flats (870) and cat’s tongues (8702). Flats and cat’s tongues run all the way up to size 36, so there are large heads for covering big canvases and building texture as well as small sizes for more controlled work.

The brushes are designed for thick acrylic and oil, impasto and textured effects, with firm heads that move dense paint and leave visible, expressive strokes. Larger Textura heads are also available as flat brushes in our Raphaël large brushes range. Clean promptly after use with soap and water or solvent and reshape the head before leaving to dry.
