Sennelier Large Oil Pastel – Red Deep 030

Sennelier large oil pastels offer the full colour range of the house's celebrated oil pastels in a chunkier stick. First developed in 1949 by Henri Sennelier for Pablo Picasso, Sennelier oil pastels are soft, creamy and intensely pigmented, and the larger format makes them ideal for covering big areas and working at scale.

Each colour carries the same number as its standard-size equivalent, so you can mix formats freely: lay in broad passages with a large stick and refine detail with standard pastels. The range includes iridescent shades alongside the full spectrum of opaque colours. Use them on paper, card, canvas, board or wood, and blend, layer or scrape back as you would with standard sticks.

Finished work stays slightly soft, so protect it with D'Artigny fixative or framing behind glass.
