Sennelier Latour Soft Pastel Fixative – 400ml Aerosol

Sennelier makes two dedicated fixatives for pastel work. Latour fixative is designed for soft pastels and other dry media such as charcoal and chalk. Applied in light layers, it helps hold loose pigment in place, both between working stages and on the finished picture, while keeping the colours as fresh as possible.

D'Artigny fixative is formulated for oil pastels, which never fully harden. It forms a protective film over finished oil pastel work, helping to guard the surface against smudging and dust.

Both are available as a 400ml aerosol and a 1000ml bottle. Apply aerosols in a well-ventilated area, holding the can at a distance and building up thin, even coats rather than one heavy application, and test on a scrap first.
