Sennelier Pure Pigment 100g Jar – Primary Blue 385
Sennelier has made artists’ colours in Paris since 1887, when Gustave Sennelier opened his shop on the Quai Voltaire, across the Seine from the Louvre. The family firm supplied painters such as Cézanne and Gauguin, and its colours are still prized for their intensity and depth. Gustave Sennelier began as a colour merchant grinding pigments by hand, and the company still offers a wide choice of pure, dry pigments.
These are supplied in jars, filled by weight according to each pigment’s density, so the net weight varies from colour to colour.
Use them to make your own oil colour, watercolour, gouache, egg tempera, acrylic or encaustic paint with the binder of your choice, or to tint gesso, plaster and mediums. Pigments are graded in series by cost and include earths, cadmiums, cobalts, iron oxides, iridescent, fluorescent and phosphorescent pigments. Wear a dust mask and gloves, avoid creating airborne dust, and keep pigments away from food and children.
